You’ve just joined us! Haere mai!
Below is some useful information we’d love you to have a read of!
Staying in touch!
- You'll automatically get our semi-regular newsletters but if they're not coming through check your spam or promotions folder. Please like "The Dust Palace Community" and join the group 'Dust Palace Training' on facebook as social events and updates will be posted there. Here is a useful set of links to find things easily https://linktr.ee/thedustpalace. We're also on instagram @thedustpalacecommunity and feel free to tag us in your stuff, we love to celebrate everyone's achievements!!
Finding us!
- We're at Ellerslie Arts, 134 Main Highway, Ellerslie -
- When you arrive your tutor will tap you into the roll. If you're not on the roll ask a tutor to help you out.
- Plan to arrive 10 minutes before your first class, giving you enough time to park, get dressed, and have your brief Health and Safety induction. We have bathrooms to change in and cubbies for your stuff. Please note we have a 15 minute late policy, if you arrive 15 minutes after the class starts you may not be able to participate in the class but you are welcome to stay and watch.
Parking
- Side street parking (120 mins) or Arthur St carpark behind the building (180 mins)
Open Training Sessions
- Open training is a fabulous time to practice what you've learnt so far, condition, stretch, invent and meet other students. There is no teaching and/or student to student skill sharing during open training (safety first). The OT Monitor will be in charge should you need anything rigged, any help of any kind or in the case of emergency.
Cameras, Videos, Notes, Etc.
- Written notes are encouraged and your grading sheet should be on hand. We generally avoid phones in class for classroom focus and respecting others' privacy.
What to wear
- You'll find you want everything stretchy, the backs of your knees covered and a layer handy to cover your armpits. Any metal in your clothing at all can rip the fabric (zippers, buttons etc) so you will be asked to remove that item. :)
