Tui Gordon's interest in the current raging phenomenon of burlesque performance comes from its emergence in queer culture as a forum to explore sexuality, physicality, politics, history and pleasure.

She ran feminist comic book store Cherry Bomb Comics for four years on Auckland's New North Rd and continues to distribute self-published and underground print material in Aotearoa through the website www.cherrybombcomics.co.nz

Her zine on revolutionary women stencils was picked up by US publisher PM Press and will be published as a book in September 2010. She is also working on a graphic novel in conjunction with illustrator Rebecca ter Borg.

Her performance experience ranges from dance to poetry to punk rock. The burlesque show incorporates her musicianship on the bass clarinet, her rhythm on the dance stage, her love for the queering of sexual histories and her sense of fun.
