Sarah Houbolt likes to be daring, to challenge perceptions and explore socio-political ideas onstage. She trained at Vulcana Women’s circus for many years, was a Paralympian and studied social work in Brisbane.

Sarah specialises in aerials, angle grinding, acro-balance and hula hoops. She first collaborated with The Dust Palace for OtherFilm Festival in Brisbane (2007). Mutual inspiration followed, Sarah moved to Auckland, and now works for Auckland City council as a community arts coordinator.

"...Houbolt did an incredible hoola-hoop item where she spun it around her entire body while performing aerial acrobatics."

"Really funny, unquestionably sexy, somewhat dangerous, and yet still sweet."
